Enhancing your child's intelligence doesn't have to be boring. There are numerous of toys and games that can exercise children's thinking while integrating fun toys and games that can put problem-solving, spatial and verbal skills to practice. Encourage your child to participate in games that require them to use their imagination studies suggest that choosing toys that enable your child to use their imagination, can help the child create their idea about the world and develop their creativity. It is important to have in mind toys that require them to do something with it in order to improve your child's spatial intelligence and dept of perception.
Exercise and Children's Intelligence
Aerobic exercise stimulates brain growth and children's ability to learn. It helps kids ability to focus and learn. Studies have found that kids who are fit tend to score better on tests. Their MRIs showed that they have a larger basal ganglia which is a key part of the brain that aides in maintaining attention and the ability to coordinate actions and thoughts. It is time to put our children's video games away and encourage a healthy exercise routine of at least 20 minutes daily.
Sleep and Intelligence
There are several sleep recommendations for young children according to their age groups. While sleep in important to all individuals, it is crucial in the stage of child development and specially how it plays a role in children's overall abilities and intelligence. Kids who get enough sleep learn more easily and do better academically. Other advantages of sleep include memory consolidation which helps the brain sort out information from the days activities while the children sleep. Other important factors we can easily contribute to by making sure our children are getting enough sleep, are emotion regulation, attention, impulse control and concentration. It is important to make a consistent sleeping schedule to help the child get the sleep they need.
Interactive reading
When reading to our children we can easily enhance their intelligence and knowledge by asking open-ended questions throughout the reading, and helping them learn to concentrate and follow interest in the story. While having this child participation, you will be encouraging deeper thinking and intellectual skills.
